Mountain Song Festival nets $40,000

Event Details

We heard this morning from Graham Sharp, banjo picker and vocalist with Steep Canyon Rangers. He wanted to let us know how things turned out with the 2010 Mountain Song Festival, which the band hosts each year in North Carolina.

The one-day event serves as a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County, and Graham was pleased with what they were able to donate for the kids.

“We raised $40,000 for the Boys and Girls Club this year, bringing the 5 year total to nearly $190,000.00.

We’re proud of all the staff and volunteers for such a smoothly run event, and extra thanks go to Woody and John Felty for all their work organizing. The community sponsors play a huge role in this success and, of course, the wonderful folks who buy the tickets.

Same time, same place next year… second weekend of September in Brevard, NC.”

Well done, guys!
