Mountain Heart on WSM

Event Details

Bluegrass bad boys Mountain Heart will launch a new monthly radio program this afternoon on Nashville powerhouse WSM at 2:00 p.m. CST (3:00 p.m. Eastern). The show will be called That Just Happened with Mountain Heart which, after today’s debut, will move to airing on the first Tuesday of each month in the same time slot.

That Just Happened with Mountain Heart will be about the band, their music… where they’ve been and where they’re going. Depending on scheduling, the one hour show may be prerecorded, but manager Brian Smith says that their goal is to be live in the studio as often as possible.

“We will have guest artists appear that are either an influence on the band or may be working with them. This is a fluid thing, and it will play out as we go depending on artist availability. Live and recorded music will cover their likes and influences. It will be fun and unpredictable, as is their theme.

These guys are flat out fun when you turn them loose!”

This first show will feature cuts from the new Mountain Heart album, coincidentally titled That Just Happened, hosted by fiddler Jim VanCleve, guitarist/vocalist Josh Shilling and banjoist/vocalist Barry Abernathy.

Smith tells us that the folks at the station love the band, and are eager to have their on-air input on a regular basis.

WSM airs at 650 AM from Nashville, a signal that reaches much of the central US, and via live streaming online.
