Mike Witcher, who has played resonator guitar with Missy Raines and the New Hip since its inception in 2002, has announced his departure from the group. In addition to being a fine musician, Witcher also has a photography business, and offers online lessons using video chat.
Mike tells us that he is dedicating his energy now to expanding his educational efforts.
“I am currently working on a video based instructional web site for Dobro which I plan to launch this summer. I am very excited to move on to new musical endeavors and wish Missy all the best.”
Missy says that she has not yet made a decision about a permanent new hire, but has Todd Livingston touring with the band on reso guitar in the interim.
