Michael Cleveland on the DL

We have learned that fiddle superstar Michael Cleveland will miss his scheduled show today (9/18) at Dumplin’ Valley in Kodak, TN.

Michael was admitted to the hospital earlier this week when he began to feel poorly on the way to fill in in with some friends at the Poppy Mountain festival. He was admitted to the hospital in Lexington, KY when doctors found a dangerously low sodium level in his bloodstream. There, his levels were slowly and carefully restored to their proper balance, and he is expected to be released today.

But not in time to get to Dumplin’ Valley for the show. Flamekeeper will perform as scheduled in his absence, with Mike Hartgrove filling in.

Kimberly Williams, publicist for Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, tells us that he is feeling fine, and itching to get out of the hospital. They had not allowed him to play his fiddle since he was admitted, and he was not happy about that!

Michael will be back on his regular performance schedule next week.
