Kevin Prater to The Bluegrass Brothers

Kevin Prater has joined up with The Bluegrass Brothers on banjo. He had worked for some time with James King, playing mandolin and singing tenor, but had gotten his start as a banjo picker. Kevin had been working of late on mandolin and guitar with Melvin Goins.

He joins fiddler Billy Hurt as the only other non-Dowdy in the band. Victor Dowdy plays bass and sings lead and tenor, along with his sons Steve Dowdy on guitar and vocals, and Donald Dowdy on mandolin and vocals.

You can follow the Bluegrass Brothers’ schedule on their web site.
