Thursday evening, we had the privilege of attending a jam at Cirrus Guitars.

I was given a tour of the shop by Mike Franks prior to the jam. Wow!

The shop is neat as a pin and filled with guitars in various stages of construction.

Mike told me that a past article in Bluegrass Today created much of the interest from many bluegrass musicians.

The list of MJ Franks guitar owners is indeed impressive – Chris Davis, Jamey Johnson, Adam Haynes, Adam McIntosh, Jason Barie, and John Bryan to name a few.

Mike is currently working on one for Zack Arnold.

He is making twelve John Bryan signature models. Number nine is started.

Rhonda Vincent sent pictures of her playing Adam Haynes’ guitar in the Opry circle.

Mike showed me the “outhouse” guitar. It is built from Brazilian rosewood reclaimed from – yep – an outhouse!

Cirrus hosts a jam on the second Thursday of the month at the shop on Mound Road in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
