It’s worse than we thought…

We’ve reported of late on the disturbing news about Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver touring with a live drummer. It’s something we might expect from Mountain Heart, who were formed after a collective internship as Quicksilverers, but not from the man himself!

Now, there is evidence that Doyle has been even further co-opted by the dark side. Click on the photo above and see how Quicksilver percussionist and former bass player Carl White has further corrupted the bluegrass legend.

But seriously… for those readers who haven’t figured out that we’ve just been having fun with this faux Doyle-drums  controversy, here’s the actual scoop on the photo from WAMU Bluegrass Country’s Katy Daley.

“The photo was edited by a lady named Arden Eaton who lives out in California. I posted the original photo from Bluegrass Today, and said it would be great if someone with Photoshop skills could put Carl’s spikes on Doyle’s head, and wham-o… she posted right back.

Fun, fun fun. Proof that when people say I couldn’t believe my eyes….well, you really can’t.”

Truth is stranger than fiction? Not always, it seems.
