Finland’s top bluegrass entertainer, mandolinist, vocalist, and bandleader Jussi Syren, has announced a new bluegrass festival in his hometown of Sastamala.
The Jussi Syren Bluegrass Festival is scheduled for August 22-23, 2026, and is designed to not only spread the word about bluegrass in his native country, but also highlight the strong bluegrass scene already growing in Finland.
Of course Syren will perform with his group, The Groundbreakers, along with five other Finnish bands: No Real Gentlemen, Self Rising Flour, The Clayhill Brothers, The Pickin’ Crew, and South Newland Strings.
Jussi has picked out a beautiful location along the Kokemäenjoki River for the Saturday show, with a second concert on Sunday in a nearby church.
This first year is all about Finnish bluegrass, but Jussi says that in years to come, he will also include bands from other parts of Europe and beyond.
Tickets are available now online.
