Important IBMA deadlines approaching

IBMARecent updates on the official IBMA web site list a number of important deadlines to keep in mind.

April 16 is the last date to apply for funding from their International Outreach Program, which issues grants to further projects that “foster the development of bluegrass music outside of the U.S.”

A total of $20,000 will be allocated, with $13,000 of that given as scholarships for the 2007 World Of Bluegrass events. These funds can be used for travel and accomodations as well as registration fees.

Full program details and contact info can be found on the IBMA site.

April 30 is the deadline for submissions to be included in the IBMA’s list of eligible recordings which is distributed to voting members during the first round of the 2007 IBMA Awards balloting. The period of eligibility is defined as any recording which had its “first commercial release between April 1, 2006 and March 31, 2007.”

This list is not meant to define all recordings that are eligible, but is included as a service to both voting members and artists/labels.

Contact details again on the IBMA site.
