IBMM joins Blue Star Museums

If you checked in with your local news last night or this morning, you may have seen information about Blue Star Museums, a joint initiative of Blue Star Families and the National Endowment for the Arts to offer free admission to over 600 museums across the country this summer for military members and their families.

The program will run through the traditional summer season, Memorial Day (5/31) through Labor Day (9/6). Any active duty personnel or their immediate family members can gain admission by showing their Geneva Conventions CAC ID or a DD Form 1173 ID card.

The International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, KY is among the institutions joining this initiative, so free admission to IBMM is available for service members this summer! Be sure to include a visit to the Bluegrass Museum if your travel plans take you through Kentucky – or consider a special trip to learn more about the fascinating history of our music.

Hats off to all the fine organizations involved in setting up the Blue Star Museum project, and to the IBMM for participating.

A list of museums in the program can be found online.
