IBMA ’06 showcase deadline approaching

Bands interested in submitting an application to showcase at the 2006 IBMA World Of Bluegrass convention in Nashville need to get in gear to meet the January 16 deadline. The submission fee is only $15, though bands who are selected to appear must also pay a $150 showcase fee. If your band is invited to showcase, you will receive complimentary registration for the entire, week-long event. Attendance itself a valuable networking opportunity for any band eager to “take it to the next level,” with a value of more than $1000 for a typical bluegrass band.

Performers as diverse as Nickel Creek, Kenny & Amanda Smith and Cherryholmes have found dramatic success shortly after having been invited to showcase at IBMA. These invited showcase acts are chosen by the IBMA Showcase Talent Committee and an announcement of the acts selected is expected in April.

You can find all the details on submitting an application on the IBMA web site.
