Gladson Family Band to entertain for the Knoxville Smokies

Event Details

Gladson Family Band

The Gladson Family Band from Hancock County, TN has been contracted to perform both before and after the game on August 15 for the Knoxville Smokies, the Double A minor league baseball team for the Chicago Cubs.

Gladsons all, the group includes Todd and Juliet on bass and guitar respectively, and their three children Harlan on banjo, Liddy on fiddle, and Lemuel on fiddle. They all trade instruments throughout their shows, performing a nice mix of bluegrass, old time, and gospel music.

On August 15 the Smokies are celebrating University of Tennessee sports with Tennessee Night at their brand-new Covenant Health Park, with music starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Modelo Watering Hole entertainment area at the park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00, with the Smokies going up against the Rocket City Trash Pandas, followed by more Gladson Family picking and singing after the last out is recorded.

Juliet Gladson says that it will be a real treat for them to entertain at the ball park next week.

“Our family is honored to add traditional Appalachian music to Tennessee Night at the new downtown stadium for the Knoxville Smokies. There is no better way to celebrate Tennessee than baseball, community, and traditional Appalachian music.”

Tickets are on sale now for Tennessee Night online, with a special package that includes two tickets, two player bobbleheads, two player pins, and two raffle tickets for a jersey giveaway.
