G2 – new music, and a new apartment?

One more release to note for March 30…  Swedish grassers G2 have dropped a single from their next CD, Untapped Routes. The song is Still Standing, written by lead singer/guitar Chris Olsson, and it is available now to broadcasters through Airplay Direct.

To my ear, it shows a dramatic leap in the band sound from their 2007 album, Where The Tall Grass Grows. There is a power and maturity to both the arrangement and the performance that suggests that G2 will make quite a mark in the US while they are here for an extended tour this summer.

Have a listen…

Speaking of that summer tour in the US… Banjo man Jens Koch tells me that they are having some difficulty finding appropriate housing for the band in Nashville. Since they will only be here for four months (June-September) and the real estate management companies in town will not offer a lease for less than 6 months.

They are hoping that there may be some bluegrass folks in or around Nashville who might have properties available over the summer to rent to a clean cut bunch of Swedish bluegrass musicians and their families.

If so, please contact Jens by email.
