Last week we reported about the impending release of a new bluegrass CD by Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers. Martin has since made the title track available as a free download.
The track is titled Rare Bird Alert. It’s an instrumental that begins with a banjo/mando twin section, followed by a full band section with the fiddle joining the banjo on the lead. There are some interesting stops and starts throughout, along with a nice tempo change. If this is a representative sampling of the material on the CD, bluegrass fans are sure to be pleased.
