Free download from Nu-Blu

Nu-Blu is offering a free track download to promote the first single from their upcoming Pinecastle CD, The Blu Disc, due for an August 9 release.

The song is a clever response to Dolly Parton’s mega-hit, Jolene, which was memorably covered bluegrass-style by Rhonda Vincent in 2000. In Other Woman’s Blues, writer Kira Small takes the voice of Jolene the homewrecker, and explains her side of the story, which is none too rosy.

It’s beautifully sung by Nu-Blu’s Carolyn Routh, with harmony vocals from Christy Reid. Here’s a sample:
