Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen

Nashville’s Turnberry Records is continuing its aggressive acquisition of new artists, announcing today the signing of contemporary and progressive bluegrass band Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen to the label.

Just moved to Nashville himself, Solivan has recently completed a new album with his talented band, which features two new members.

He says that this new partnership is a perfect fit.

“This feels like exactly the right home at exactly the right time. Turnberry is a label that believes in its artists and trusts them to make the music they love. We’ve poured our hearts and souls into this record — killer originals, some covers that I think will surprise people, and a lineup that genuinely excites me every single day. Jack Dunlap on guitar, Cody Brown on bass, and my long-time musical partner Mike Munford on banjo — Dirty Kitchen has never sounded like this. I am so ready for the world to hear this new music.”

Dirty Kitchen has been recognized as among the best in bluegrass, with two IBMA awards for Instrumental Group of the Year, multiple Grammy nominations, and a Banjo Player of the Year award for Munford.

Solivan is an interesting figure as well, a native Alaskan, son of California bluegrass legend Frank Solivan Sr., an alumni of the US Navy Band Country Current, a master leather craftsman, and co-founder of the ToneSlabs pick company.

Keith Barnacastle, Turnberry Records CEO, welcomes him warmly into the fold.

“Frank Solivan is one of the most dynamic voices in bluegrass today, and one of the fieriest mandolin players in the world”. His artistry, his story, and the sheer power of Dirty Kitchen are exactly what this label was built for. We are thrilled to welcome Frank Solivan to the Turnberry family.”

A new single is expected by the end of next month.
