Doyle Lawson on Prairie Home Companion this weekend

Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver will be the featured musical guests for this weekend’s edition of Prairie Home Companion. This long-running radio program is heard on nearly 600 stations throughout the US, and via Armed Forces Radio wherever US military personnel are deployed around the world.

The show will air on Saturday (6/3) and Sunday (6/4), with actual air times set by local stations, but will be recorded tonight at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, CA. Special guests this week also include Virginia Madsen, John C. Reilly and Meryl Streep.

The show’s web site allows you to search their station list online to find where Prairie Home Companion can be heard in your area, or you can listen to the show online via live streaming audio (Windows Media format). The show’s stream is available from 6:00-8:00 p.m. (EDT).

Shows are also archived on the PHC web site, and can be accessed online. The audio is usually available on the web by the Monday morning following a weekend broadcast.

Since the PHC show will air from a taped performance, Doyle and the boys can be on the radio twice on Saturday night – from both California and Tennessee! They will also perform live on The Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree, which airs on WSM on Saturday at midnight, central time (Sunday at 12:00 a.m., to be precise). You can listen over the air (650 AM in Nashville) or via online streaming.
