Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver are teaming up with singing country sweethearts Joey + Rory for a just-announced, 2012 package show billing as the Boots & Bibs Tour. The name comes from Doyle’s signature fancy-pants boots, and Rory’s trademark bibovers.
Joey + Rory features husband-and-wife Joey and Rory Feek, both of whom are gifted singers and songwriters. Just to keep your scorecards straight, he’s Rory, and she’s Joey.
Doyle, of course, is the Doyle Lawson, bluegrass survivor, trendsetter and superstar. His management team is arranging the tour, and some early dates are expected to be announced soon.
Both acts are excited about the twin-bill, and the opportunities to present their music to a new, but related audience.
