Delilah from Carolina Bluegrass Style

Carolina Bluegrass Style

Slim Husky Records is pleased to offer a new single from Carolina Bluegrass Style, hailing from Columbia, South Carolina.

After only about two years together, after a jam session that really clicked, the band was honored as Bluegrass Group of the Year at the 2025 Josie Music Awards, held at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, where top independent artists in every imaginable genre are feted.

The group features David Prosser on banjo, Tyler Chasteen on guitar, Don Ashley on fiddle, and Tommy Thomas on bass.

During their short time together, Carolina Bluegrass Style has distinguished themselves through powerful live performances, and a bold approach to their music, often bringing in songs never before adapted to the style.

One such is their latest, a grassed-up take on Delilah, which was a massive international hit for Tom Jones in 1968. The original, written by Barry Mason and Les Reed, featured an orchestral setting, which CBS has rendered down to a quartet. They do a terrific job on this cut, with the real standout being Tyler’s lead vocal, which soars as it must to deliver such a passionate song of deception, betrayal, and murder.

Give it a listen.

Delilah is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct.
