DCBU band competition

DCBUThe deadline is coming up for entry in the DC Bluegrass Union’s Mid-Atlantic Bluegrass Band competition, held during their 4th annual DC Bluegrass Festival. Bands who wish to compete must submit the application form, with a $50 registration fee, by February 8, 2013.

The contest is open to any non-touring bluegrass groups, with regional and local bands encouraged to participate. A total of $1300 will be distributed among the top three finishers, with the winners being featured on the Saturday (2/28) festival stage along with Larry Sparks, Danny Paisley, Frank Solivan and more.

No electric instruments other than bass will be allowed, nor drums or keyboards.
