Darren Beachley to leave Quicksilver

Event Details

Darren Beachley has announced that he will be leaving Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver at the end of this month.

Here is his statement about the move…

Darren Beachley"I will be leaving the group at the end of January. It was a life long dream to work here, but once you fulfill a dream, you have to move on to the next one. Now it’s time to put my stamp on the music with all the influences I have had in my career. I have had a good run here, and am proud of what was accomplished.

I feel I was a part of some ground breaking things. The first song I ever sang when I came here was He Lives In Me which became the second longest charting southern gospel song in history, along with winning IBMA’s gospel recorded performance of the year. I was very fortunate when I came here to be a part of a veteran band and be a part of IBMA vocal group of the year in 2006 and 2007.

The video for Sadie’s Got Her New Dress On was a number one video on CMT and was atop the bluegrass charts for six months. And there are many other things that I feel were really groundbreaking. The upcoming DL&Q recording that I am a part of will be out in the spring, and I feel it’s got some of the best material that I’ve heard in awhile.

I was also a mainstay through a lot of changes, that at times were very difficult. When you have seven new people go through a band in 3 years, it’s tough sometimes.

I will make a release in the upcoming weeks about my future plans.
