Dan Hays accepts position with Franklin Theatre

Outgoing IBMA director Dan Hays has accepted a new position with the Franklin Theatre in Franklin, TN. Hays expects to begin work with Franklin early in 2012, dividing his time with IBMA until a new Executive Director of the organization is named.

The IBMA Board is reviewing applications now, and hopes to name Hays’ successor shortly.

For his part, Dan is eager to get to work assisting the recently-renovated theater in downtown Franklin, which offers a variety of entertainment options, including films, concerts and community events.

“I am honored and look forward to joining the extraordinary staff at the Franklin Theatre.

This intimate historic Theatre is bursting with promise and is a vibrant cultural asset for our community and the talents we present.”

Franklin Theatre operated continuously as a movie house from 1937 until 2007, and was reopened last year following an extensive rehabilitation which cost in excess of $8 million.

More details about the theater can be found online.
