Armuchee festival promoter passes

Event Details

This sad news about the sudden passing of Krickett Langley was shared by Charlie Robinson of the Southeastern Bluegrass Association.

The SouthEastern Bluegrass Association has just received the sad news of the passing of long time SEBA member/promoter Krickett Langley. Langley, the  daughter of the late Mack Farley, along with her husband Chuck Langley, were set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the annual Armuchee, GA festivals, held twice each year.

The message of Langley’s passing was posted by Mr. Dan Daniel on SEBA’s facebook page:

“To all of the Bluegrass Community, my friend Chuck Langley called me this evening, and it saddens me  to tell you that Krickett Langley of the Armuchee Bluegrass Festival has passed from this life. Please keep Chuck and his family in your prayers. She will be missed by many, as she was loved by many.”

No further details are available at this time, but she and her family have long  been held as the best friend ‘shade tree pickers’ and lesser known regional bands ever had through the family’s more than 40 year love affair with bluegrass.

It was not uncommon for notable musicians to drop by the festivals just for the jam sessions. Though many people may have know about the Armuchee festival, if you will view the YouTube clip interview with Krickett at a recent festival (courtesy of Jamey Guy Photography), you’ll witness true passion for bluegrass music and its community by one of it’s unsung heroes.
