Bid to win signed, handwritten Man Of Constant Sorrow lyrics

Event Details

Signed Man Of Constant Sorrow lyrics being auctioned by Americana Music AssociationI know that some of you out there are thinking this…  “What can I get for [insert family member of friend’s name here]? He/she loves bluegrass, but always gets new CDs and DVS when they are released.”

Well, here’s an idea for a special gift, but you’ll have to work for it. The Americana Music Association is holding an auction right now to raise funds for their various efforts in support of American roots music. The items up for bid are handwritten lyrics from a number of popular folk/roots songs, scribbled by the songwriters or artists associated with each song.

Willie Nelson, Robert Plant, Patty Griffin, and Peter Frampton are among the artists participating, who are signing and dating each lyric sheet. Also in the mix is Dan Tyminski, who has written out the words for Man Of Constant Sorrow, with which he had a mega-hit from the film, O Brother, Where Art Thou.

The current bid (10:30 a.m. on 12/16) is $200, and the auction is set to close at 3:25 p.m. on the 17th (EST). You’ll find full auction details on the AMA site.
