Lou Reid Gospel CD coming soon

Event Details

Lou Reid is also in the studio this month, recording a new Gospel project with his trusty band, Carolina. They are tracking at Eastwood Recording Studio with Wes Easter engineering and Lou producing.

Lou tells us that they are just getting started, and still choosing material, but expect to include some traditional Gospel songs, a couple of new ones and at least one band original.

“Our new Gospel project is going great. The songs range from a capella traditional songs, to some contemporary, to some heart wrenching tunes.  I am very pleased with what we have so far.”

They are tracking this album as a band, with Lou on lead vocals and mandolin, Christy Reid on bass and vocals, Shannon Slaughter on guitar and vocals, and Trevor Watson on banjo. Christy and Shannon will be featured as lead vocalists on a few songs as well.

Lou sent along a number of photos from their recent sessions, including one of them with their SPBGMA Song of the Year trophy for Amanda Lynn – from their 2009 CD, My Own Set Of Rules. You can hear Amanda Lynn on the Lou Reid & Carolina web site.

Be on the lookout for the new CD on Rural Rhythm late this year or early next.
