New Cuts of Bluegrass launches in January

Event Details

We reported earlier this year on the demise of Prime Cuts of Bluegrass, the bluegrass radio service operated since 1992 by Kirk and Becky Brandenberger. Their last sampler CD was mailed in July.

Fortunately, a new service has arisen in their place. New Cuts of Bluegrass will send out their first CD in mid-January, mailing to over 400 radio stations including online and satellite outfits. It will be operated by Jimmy Metts, who has worked in the music business for the past 25 years, including serving as co-producer for Young Man, Old Soul by Brandon Rickman, released in 2009 on Rural Rhythm.

This service will be available to record labels and independent artists, at a cost which they describe as less than sending out 400 manufactured CDs to these same stations on your own.

You can see their station list online, as well as details about sending them your music for distribution to radio. Metts says that they will soon have an uploader on the site to deliver your track to New Cuts.
