Pinecastle’s Nu-Blu has announced the debut of a free smart phone app designed especially for bluegrass lovers.
It is available now for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in the iTunes App Store. Development is nearly completed for an Andriod version, which will be available in the next two weeks at the Android Marketplace..
The Blu-sters tell us that this is the first app for a bluegrass band, and that it offers quick, free access to information about the group and the bluegrass world at large. In addition to band video, audio, tour dates and photos, the Nu-Blu app also includes a live feed from Bluegrass Today and direct access to Napster and Last FM.
Of course it contains information about the band’s Christmas single, Christmas In Dixie, and their current self-produced project, Nights.
Users will also be able to download sound files, pose questions to the band, join their street team and get special discounts on band merchandise. Get it free in iTunes now.
