Roanoke Bluegrass Weekend faculty concert 11/12

Event Details

One of the highlights of the annual Roanoke Bluegrass Weekend each year is the Saturday evening faculty concert. The primary focus of this three day event is instructional seminars and workshops for students of bluegrass music, and these sessions are only open to registered attendees.

On the Saturday of each weekend event, however, the doors swing open and the general public are invited to attend the faculty jam show. The various members of the RBW faculty, chosen each year from among the most celebrated pickers in bluegrass, combine in a variety of settings on stage, and the result is a loose, unscripted sort of program that both the performers and the audience enjoy tremendously.

This year’s show will feature RBW faculty members JD Crowe, Bobby Hicks, Wyatt Rice, Aubrey Haynie, Randy Kohrs, Butch Baldassari, Steve Huber, David McLaughlin, Herschel Sizemore and many others – and unbilled surprise guests are as likely as not. Tickets for this show are available at the door for $15, and concertgoers are also invited to listen or participate in the jamming that always breaks out after the show.

More information on the concert can be found on the RBW web site.
