Tallgrass Music Festival cancelled

Event Details

tallgrassThe organizers of the Tallgrass Music Fetsival, formerly known as The Skiatook Bluegrass Festival, has been forced by flooding to cancel this weekend’s event.

Extreme overflow from Bird Creek following heavy rains this week required the evacuation of the campground this morning. Water was up approximately 4 feet at the time, with more coming in and additional thunderstorms in the forecast for their part of Oklahoma over the weekend.

Campers, attendees and entertainers were urged to get out while it was still possible, and festival organizers want to avoid having people endangering themselves and their vehicles by driving to the site.

There is a slight chance that this year’s festival will be rescheduled for a later date if band tour dates allow, but if not, they hope to see everyone next year.
