A big Thank You from Steve Thomas

Event Details

Steve and Janet ThomasSteve and Janet Thomas, who lost their Nashville home to fire on New Year’s Eve, has asked us to share a brief word of thanks for all of the support they have received from bluegrass folks. Thomas is a long time grasser, and has worked with dozens of bluegrass bands over the years. At present he performs with Mark Newton in Newton & Thomas.

A slew of financial contributions came in to a recovery fund following our article published on January 2 about their loss, and a recent benefit concert in Nashville raised $4000 to help them get back on their feet. Almost all of their furniture, clothing and personal property were destroyed in the fire, and all this was most welcome.

Here is Steve’s brief statement…

“The Thomas’s are so thankful for the outpouring of support from Bluegrass Today and all of the bluegrass community, and are now accepting no more donations.”

We were delighted to play a small part in assisting Steve and Janet, and are proud to see how quickly and completely the bluegrass world has leapt to their defense.
