Saying goodbye to Engine 145

Event Details

Juli Thanki - photo by Ted LehmannThis month we’re saying goodbye to one of the most popular roots music sites on the Internet. Engine 145, managed by Juli Thanki in Washington, DC, will shut down on December 8.

Juli has taken a job as a country music writer with The Tennessean, and is moving to Nashville to start with them. Folks who have enjoyed her writing can look for her in the paper, and on their web site.

Engine 145 covered every sort of American roots music: country, blues, folk, bluegrass and everything in between. Tidbits from Bluegrass Today could often be found in Juli’s daily blog. She had written for a number of publications prior to launching Engine 145, including Bluegrass Unlimited and AOL’s The 9513. The Tennessean has picked up a good one.

Juli has promised to update the site with information about where the various Engine 145 writers and columnists land.

Farewell, fair Engine.
