Jason and Mackenzie Wood, both members of North Carolina’s Wood Family Tradition, are celebrating the birth of their first child earlier this afternoon.
Ruby Dallas Wood was born at 12:41 p.m. She came in at 7.7 lbs and 18”.
Ruby is descended from bluegrass royalty, as her great-grandfather is A.L. Wood, a legendary banjo player and songwriter also from the Statesville area. Let’s hope she continues this long family legacy of bluegrass music.
