Another Tuesday World of Bluegrass report

Event Details

A couple of the sessions at Tuesday’s first day of World of Bluegrass 2016 dealt with the state of the industry, and band composition. Points of view were given by a talent buyer, a booking agent, a band manager, a record executive, and a band leader. All emphasized building relationships. Band composition dealt with everything from hiring and firing to travel and stage presence.

Flatt Lonesome did an interview and impromptu show in front of Sir Walter Raleigh outside the Convention Center.

Dr. Banjo, Pete Wernick, had a little fun with Sir Walter and his banjo. He checked and Sir Walter was out of tune!

Then the music began. We saw Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike, Zoe and Cloyd, Ten String Symphony, Missy Raines & the New Hip, The Molly Tuttle Band, and Jeff Scroggins and Colorado.
