Nefesh Mountain announces Hanukkah tour and live album

Event Details

Nefesh Mountain

The Christmas tour is coming a tradition in bluegrass and acoustic music circles. A number of touring acts have made a practice of learning and performing a special set of holiday music, often based on their own Christmas recordings, and extend their tour season well into December. Rhonda Vincent has been doing this for some time, as have Dailey & Vincent, Rick Lang, and several other artists. Regular fans enjoy seeing their favorite pickers and singers in a different light, and often new audiences are attracted to bluegrass through these concerts.

With Nefesh Mountain having carved out a space for their brand of bluegrass based on their Jewish heritage and faith, it’s no surprise to find them promoting a Hanukkah Holiday Tour this year as well. They are likewise celebrating the holiday season with a new live album, Live From Levon Helm Studios: A Hanukkah Holiday Concert, recorded last year as a live stream event which many of you may have seen online.

The Hanukkah Holiday Tour begins on November 27 in Rockport, MA and runs through December 15, closing with a show in Nashville at The City winery. The tour will feature the band – Doni Zasloff on vocals, Eric Lindberg on banjo, guitar, and vocals, Alan Grubner on diddle, David Goldenberg on mandolin, and Max Johnson on bass – performing the music from the live album on stage.

Here are all the stops on the tour:

  •  11/27 – Rockport, MA  Shalin Liu Performance Center
  • 11/28 – Boston, MA  Club Passim
  • 11/30 – New York, NY  City Winery Loft
