Washington Area Music Awards

Nominations have been announced for the 2026 Washington Area Music Awards, known in the capital region as the Wammies.

The Wammies cover a wide range of music, encompassing most every style that is popular in and around Washington, DC. Specifically, it covers the District and its surrounding suburbs in both Maryland and Virginia.

There are three award categories under the banner of Folk and Bluegrass. They are for artists based within the region described above with nominees chosen by online vote, and final winners by a panel of industry professionals.

And the nominees are:

Best Folk/Bluegrass Album

  • Jillian Matundan – Singing to the Moon
  • Lynn Hollyfield – Look Up
  • Eli Lev – Past Lives
  • Wicked Sycamore – If Not Now
  • Wild Aster – Wild Aster

Best Folk/Bluegrass Artist-Group

  • Jillian Matundan
  • Eli Lev
  • Lynn Hollyfield
  • Wicked Sycamore
  • The Timber Bridges

Best Folk/Bluegrass Song

  • FANFAIRE – Heavy Love
  • Jillian Matundan – Through the Threshold
  • Jillian Matundan – Frozen
  • Jillian Matundan – Worth
  • Lynn Hollyfield – Just Begin
