The Spinney Brothers at the 2015 Palatka Bluegrass Festival - photo © Bill WarrenIt was a sunny, bright, and chilly day to open 11th Palatka Bluegrass Festival on February 19th at the Rodeheaver Boys Ranch in Palatka, Florida. The bands played to a big and enthusiastic crowd.

Alan Sibley and the Magnolia Ramblers opened the show with rock solid bluegrass Gospel music. Alan is an alumnus of Enoch and Margie Sullivan’s band. The Spinney Brothers brought their traditional bluegrass from cold, snowy Nova Scotia, Canada. They will perform again Friday.

Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out put on a great show, as they always do. Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver is always a favorite. Their combination of bluegrass and Gospel is always impeccable. The Queen of Bluegrass, Rhonda Vincent, and her band the Rage closed out the day. Rhonda was bundled up, but smiling and giving the crowd a great show. Rhonda was joined by brother Darrin and mother Carolyn during her evening set to the delight of the audience.
