Billy Blue Records has a new single today from NewFound Road, reformed and recording again in 2026.
And what a song it is! Sung by NFR founder Tim Shelton, it’s one called The World To You, a poignant and affecting heartbreak story of long nights and lonely days, living that desperate feeling of loneliness after a romantic separation.
Tim says that he got a sort of “two in one” deal with this one.
“Last year, while gathering new songs for our first Billy Blue album, I reached out to a handful of writers. Josh Martin was one of them. Ronnie Bowman was another. Josh sent me The World To You, and turns out, he and Ronnie wrote it together!
I really loved the melody and of course, the lyrics, but overall the song reminded me of something Tony Rice would have recorded during the Native American album era.”
There’s also a touch of Waylon Jennings in his Tex Mex period. A real gem of a song.
With Shelton out front, studio support comes from bandmates Jr. Williams on banjo, Jared Hensley on guitar, Joe Booher on mandolin, and Sam Lauderbaugh on bass. Jim VanCleve adds fiddle, and Williams and Booher sing harmony vocals.
Check it out.
The World To You is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct.
