Steal My Today video from Chris Jones & The Night Drivers

Event Details

Chris Jones & The Night Drivers

A new music video drops today for Chris Jones & The Night Drivers, and their current single with Mountain Home Music, Steal My Today.

It’s a new song he’s written with his Night Drivers banjo picker, Grace van’t Hof, and as always with Chris’ music, the lyrics convey a thoughtful, introspective look at a difficult situation. In essence, he is telling someone who has caused grief in the past that they can’t have his today.

Jones says that the recording involves some band landmarks.

“This song represents some firsts for us. It’s our first release to feature Nelson Williams on the bass (including some bowed bass). He’s the newest Night Driver, though he’s already been with us for over two years.

It’s also our first time to feature Italian dobro player Paolo Ercoli as a musical guest. He and I have been doing duo tours in Europe and the US for a few years now.

Grace van’t Hof and I co-wrote the song, one about not letting the material loss of a breakup take away the joy of the present moment. Grace also played banjo and even added some accordion to the recording.”

Completing the players on the track is long-time Night Drivers mandolinist Mark Stoffel.

The song has a slightly somber tone, but is well worth a listen – and look. Check out the video shot and edited by Mountainwater Films.

Steal My Today is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct.
