Right Amount of Wrong from Tim Stafford

Tim Stafford, guitarist and vocalist with Blue Highway, one of bluegrass music’s most prolific and critically-acclaimed songwriters, is also something of a reluctant solo artist. He is a busy guy, also on the adjunct faculty for the ETSU Bluegrass, Old Time, and Roots Music Studies program, but he releases new music under his own name about as often as hurricanes hit Chicago.

So we count ourselves lucky to have a new one today, Right Amount of Wrong, which Tim says is “a song about what’s right about finding the wrong person.” The story is told by a man who leaves any time he starts feeling close to someone, and explains why the woman he’s with is just right… I mean wrong.

It was written by Stafford with Thomas Cassell, and recorded with some stellar studio pickers. Tim plays guitar, of course, and sings lead, supported by Ron Stewart on banjo, Nick Keen on mandolin, Gary Hultman on reso-guitar, and Kameron Keller on bass.

Anything from Tim is guaranteed to be worthy of your attention, so be sure to give this a listen.

Right Amount of Wrong is available now from popular streaming services online, for download purchase directly from Tim’s web site, and to radio programmers via Get It Played.
