Tyler Griffith and his wife, Nienke

Tyler Griffith, veteran bluegrass sideman and bassist, has released a debut single as a solo artist, a heartfelt tribute to his wife, Nienke, called Please Stay.

We’ve all seen Tyler touring with top bluegrass acts like Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, The Farm Hands, the Tennessee Bluegrass Band, or Jeff Parker & Colin Ray. These days he is working with King Springs Road, an interesting group that has members from the US, Netherlands, and Germany.

Please Stay is a song he wrote after first meeting Nienke at a jam session at his home while she was visiting the States in 2017. Romance bloomed right away, but with Nienke planning to leave soon for home, Tyler wrote the song to try to convince her to delay departure. She was understandably hesitant about starting a transcontinental relationship, but everything worked out and they are now man and wife.

Griffith says that Please Stay was elemental in paving the road that would lead eventually to their marriage.

That’s one powerful number!

Tyler sings the lead and plays guitar and bass, with support from Aaron Ramsey on mandolin, Lukas Grabe on banjo, and Stephen Burwell on fiddle. Katja Grabe sang harmony vocals.

Check it out.

Please Stay is available now from popular download and streaming services online. Radio programmers are invited to contract Tyler on Facebook to get an airplay copy of the track.
