Bluegrass singer and songwriter Lydia Hamby has a new single to share, courtesy of Gravy Records, an affiliate of Sound Biscuit Records.
Lydia is a recent graduate of the ETSU Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Roots Music program, where she spent two years performing with their honors band. She also received a masters degree from the school, and is now a member of their faculty.
For the single Hamby has chosen a new gospel song she wrote, Paid In Full, inspired by a message she received at just the right time.
“Paid In Full was written after church one Sunday, following a sermon I really needed to hear. I was encouraged by the reminder that when Jesus died on the cross, He didn’t just pay for our sins part of the way — He paid them in full.
I hope this song brings that same encouragement to anyone who hears it.”
She sings it beautifully, while also playing mandolin, with support from Ben Watlington on guitar, Brady Wallen on banjo, Aynsley Porchak on fiddle, and Max Etling on bass. Colton Baker added harmony vocals.
Give it a listen.
Paid In Full is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct or Get It Played.
