Memories cane for Melvin Goins

Event Details

Melvin Goins

On April 3, Melvin Goins brought his band, Windy Mountain, to the Kentuckians of Michigan in Romulus, MI. The crowd enjoyed an evening of Melvin’s great bluegrass music.

During a set break Melvin was presented a memories cane carved by our own Chopper, who makes carved canes and walking sticks from tree branches he finds in the woods. Melvin’s cane celebrates his musical history from the days of the Lonesome Pine Fiddlers through today’s Windy Mountain.

Bill Farmer and Bill Warren presented the cane to Melvin on behalf of the Kentuckians of Michigan and the Southeast Michigan Bluegrass Music Association.
