I Always Do from Missy Werner

Event Details

Missy WernerMandolinist, singer and bandleader Missy Werner has released a new single to radio, ahead of a full album expected this winter.

The song is I Always Do, written by Ashby Frank, which features Missy with backing from Sierra Hull on mandolin, Megan McCormick on guitar, Thomas Wyrot on banjo, Maggie Estes White on fiddle, and producer Jon Weisberger on bass. Harmony vocals were provided by her husband (and road bass player) Artie Werner and Stephen Mougin.

Werner shared a few thoughts about the upcoming album and the process this time around, along with an audio sample from the single.

“We originally hoped to release a new album around this time, but as they say, life got in the way, and we’re not quite there yet. We want to thank all of our fans for their patience and understanding during the delay. In the meantime, I hope that everyone will enjoy I Always Do. I’m really glad to be getting it out.

Last time, I thought it was really important to record with my touring band. This time, along with songs recorded with the band, we decided to include a set recorded with some other musicians that Jon suggested, too. Some were familiar to me and some were new, but they all did a great job.”

Radio programmers can download I Always Do now from Airplay Direct. It will available for download purchase on October 8.
