Del McCoury interviewed

Event Details

For all you Delheads out there, you know who you are, here’s a recent interview with the man himself, Del McCoury, in the York Daily Record. York as in Pennsylvania.

Del has won a great many awards during the course of his musical career, and he is being honored once again tomorrow in his home state, by being awarded the 2010 Artist of the Year award from the Pennsylvania Governor’s Awards for the Arts.

Accordingly, the York Daily Record caught up with Del, now 71 but still hard to catch up with, and asked him a few questions. The discussion ranges from his SiriusXM show, to taking care of his voice, winning awards, his sons playing music, the international nature of bluegrass, and his very own DelFest.

For fans of Del McCoury, take a few minutes to read the interview and enjoy Del’s personality coming through in the answers he gives. It’ll be worth your time.

And while we’re at it, here’s a promo video for the upcoming DelFest 2010.
