Cool Mandolins for Kids needs your help

The Cool Mandolin CompanyWe told you a few months back about a wonderful program called Cool Mandolins for Kids which tries to match up young pickers with mandolins that are gathering dust under someone’s bed.

The program is administered by Laura Leder, who manages the Cool Mandolin Company. She contacted us recently to say that the program has been very successful so far, pairing up 12 underused instruments with young students in need of a new mandolin. Laura says that it has been such a hit that they now have a waiting list of students wishing for an instrument.

She hopes that any readers of Bluegrass Today who have a gently used mandolin they can spare might consider donating it to Cool Mandolins for Kids. The program will cover all shipping costs, and the instruments are delivered to the recipients at no cost to them.

To arrange for a donation, or to find out more about the program, you can contact Laura Leder by email, or by phone at 215-630-8047.
