Chet Kingery Memorial Bluegrass Festival gets new home

Event Details

kingeryThe 3rd annual Chet Kingery Memorial Bluegrass Festival has announced a new site for their May 16 event this year in Arthur, IL. Their prior location, Rockome Gardens, is not opening for the 2015 season, so everything is moving to Moultrie Douglas County Fairgrounds.

The festival was instituted in 2013 to honor the memory of a local bluegrass artist, Chet Kingery, who performed for years from a home base in central Illinois. Kingery passed away in 1998, and Mackville, another local bluegrass and Gospel group, serves as the host band.

Organizers put on a festival dedicated to traditional bluegrass music, just as Chet played it in his day. Headlining the festival are Larry Sparks, Jeff Brown & Still Lonesome and The Spinney Brothers.

A flyer with full details about the event is posted online.
