Broken Man from Lonesome Express

Event Details

Lonesome Express

Lonesome Express is a very strong young band out of Kentucky who have been playing together for about three years now. Their debut single is available this week, which shows a keen sense of today’s bluegrass, and tremendous promise for these talented pickers and singers.

They won the Bull of the Bluegrass band competition last year at Rudyfest, and have been performing all over Kentucky winning fans as they go.

The band consists of Brad Kirby on guitar, Max Hernandez on mandolin, Maddie Murray on fiddle, Blake Skinner on banjo, and Will Mullins on bass. Their sound is crisp and contemporary, while sticking to a traditional bluegrass template.

For this first recorded release, Lonesome Express has chosen a song by Kentucky songwriter David Carroll called Broken Man, which Brad sings, one he says they feel honored to cut.

“Dave Carroll is one of the best songwriters in the industry, and has been super supportive of our music. We are so appreciative of him for letting us record our version of this fantastic tune.

Also special thanks to Rickey Wasson and Ron Stewart for their help in getting this song finished.”

Check out Broken Man.

Broken Man is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct.

Keep an eye on this group.
