Brian Swenk resurrects Rockwood Booking Agency

Brian Paul Swenk, a veteran of both the performance and artist representation sides of the bluegrass music world, has reopened his boutique shop, Rockwood Booking Agency.

For many years Brian was the banjo player with Big Daddy Love, an alternative, jamgrass group that performed extensively across the US. When they stopped touring so actively, he launched Rockwood in 2018 intending to keep things small, only serving a limited number of select clients. On the bluegrass side, he was representing Chris Jones & The Night Drivers, Fireside Collective, Hank Pattie & the Current, and Aaron Burdett, along with a few rock acts.

But in 2019, he was invited to merge his business with Midwood Entertainment, a large event and venue services company in Charlotte, NC. Swenk brought his artists over, and everything was going well until Midwood recently decided to eliminate the booking side, primarily owing to the large growth in the other sectors of the company.

So Brian has brought back the Rockwood Booking Agency, while also joining the staff of Across-The-Way Productions, the folks that put on FloydFest, as their Media Director. There he is also assisting COO Sam Calhoun and CFO Jessica Taylor with promotions, partnerships, customer service, ticket sales, social media, and long-term strategic planning.

Operating as Rockwood again, Brian is booking for the following acts:

  • Acoustic Syndicate
  • Big Daddy Love
  • The Contenders
  • Chris Jones and the Night Drivers
  • Hank, Pattie, and the Current
  • The Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers

Until his Facebook and web site are revised to reflect Rockwood’s newly active status, Brian recommends contacting him by email for information on dates for any of the artists above.

Welcome back Rockwood Booking Agency!
