Bluestar launches in support of Look To The Light

Bluestar is a new “special project” band recently formed to tour in support of Rick Lang’s terrific Look To The Light CD. The album features a powerful lineup of bluegrass all-stars on a set of Rick’s original Gospel music, several of whom will also perform with Bluestar.

Look To The Light was produced by Jesse Brock and John Miller over the course of several years, pulling in top pickers and singers as they were available to record. Singers include Russell Moore, Dale Ann Bradley, Junior Sisk, Jeff Parker, Barry Scott and Dale Perry, with instrumental assistance from Ron Stewart, Michael Cleveland, Wyatt and Ron Rice plus Miller and Brock.

The entire record is fantastic, and has been making some waves in the Gospel music world.

To get the music in front of live audiences, Bluestar pulls together Miller and Brock, with Dale Ann Bradley and Steve Gulley on vocals, Joey Cox on banjo, Mike Conner on bass, Greg Luck on fiddle, and Matt Leadbetter on resonator guitar. They will showcase this evening at IBMA at the Rural Rhythm after-hours event, and at other venues this week in and around IBMA.

They are accepting limited dates now, with availability determined by the busy schedules of the artists involved. Their show will featured two sets – a first from Look To The Light, and a second straight bluegrass set drawn from the recorded repertoire of the assembled players.

The band is represented by Class Acts on Tour.
