Bluegrass Museum on World Progress Report

Event Details

The International Bluegrass Music Museum is getting some new press. World Progress Report with Joan Lunden, recently filmed a piece about the museum. The video is very well done and presents bluegrass music in general, the IBMM in particular, in a very appealing light. WPR is televised on a number of PBS stations around the country.

The video focuses on bluegrass music’s founder, Bill Monroe.

A century after his birth in Rosine, Kentucky, the music genre created by Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music, is now established globally and enjoyed by tens of millions who will celebrate The Bill Monroe Centennial in 2011. The International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, KY is proud to honor his memory and be actively engaged in preserving the past and ongoing history of traditional bluegrass, old time music, and progressive bluegrass (jam bands).

Here’s the video.
